This statement is made under Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It constitutes the companies Slavery and Human Trafficking statement for the financial year ending April 2022.

Wessex Unique Lodges & Park Homes, a division of Omar Group, is committed to acting as a responsible company and employer. We take responsibility for our actions and carefully consider the impact and effect of our choices on others and ensure that our ethics and values are integrated into our formal business practices, policies, procedures and plans.

In particular Omar Group is committed to ensuring that no slavery or human trafficking occurs within any part of its business or supply chains.


Our understanding of slavery and human trafficking is based upon the definitions set out in the MSA and is guided by the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Conventions particularly around forced labour, the ILO definition of which is given below:

Forced labour refers to situations in which persons are coerced to work through the use of violence or intimidation or by more subtle means such as accumulated debt, retention of identity papers or threats of denunciation to immigration authorities. 

Forced labour, contemporary forms of slavery, debt bondage and human trafficking are closely related terms though not identical in a legal sense. Most situations of slavery or human trafficking are however covered by ILO's definition of forced labour.

The company has taken steps to ensure compliance with the Act through the following actions:

All employees are required to prove evidence of their Right to Work in the UK and are provided with and required to sign, Terms & Conditions of Employment Contract and have access to all company policies and procedures relating to their employment

Omar Group has updated policies and processes in line with the legislation

The Group is in the process of carrying out due diligence of its suppliers to ensure compliance with the legislation and auditing those who are unable to satisfy this.
