Launch of the 2015 Gîte Luxury Lodge causes a stir
23rd February 2015
The launch of Wessex’s eagerly awaited 2015 Gîte luxury lodge caused quite a stir at the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show at the NEC last week with visitors to the show coming in droves to admire the French style and charm of this impressive and iconic luxury lodge.
The 45’ x 22’ model on display couldn’t help but draw in the crowds with its distinctive exterior remaining true to its original and revered form. Visitors loved the individuality of the lodge with its tall slender roof dormers, window shutters and large bespoke French casement style windows, and comments such as “a lodge that truly stands out from the crowd” and “it’s really something quite different and special” were often heard throughout the event.
Inside, similar comments echoed through every room. The living area, which incorporates lounge, dining and kitchen areas created a real impact as soon as visitors walked through the door with its light panelled walls, vaulted ceilings and subtle colour palette of cool greys and whites. Show-goers particularly liked the feature wall and chimneybreast to the lounge area with its cast iron electric stove and the kitchen area with its striking breakfast island with beautiful walnut top, under-mounted sink and wine cooler.
The master bedroom continued to inspire. Light panelled walls and a vaulted ceiling come together to create a spacious and tranquil feel and then there’s the bed – a beautiful and elegant French bed dressed with opulent fabrics and complimented by French style bedside cabinets and a chest of drawers. The en-suite, as you would imagine, is also quite special and actually very practical. A feature partition wall open from both sides from the bedroom area houses an elegant sink mounted into a stylish washstand, behind this, to one side there’s an indulgent fully tiled walk in shower with duckboard and to the other, a separate WC - visitors loved this unusual arrangement.
The lodge is finished off with a stunning bunkroom and family shower room. The bunkrooms panelled ceiling which reaches high up into the roof dormer creating a unique and special space was a real talking point. Show-goers also loved the white, solid pine bunk beds, fitted wardrobes and stylish window seat, “its so fresh, clean and stylish… I’d love to sleep in here, never mind the kids!” one visitor was heard saying.
Kevin Jones, National Sales Manager commented: “There’s been a lot of interest in the lead up to the launch of the Gîte with customers excited to see what it has to offer. The Gîte is a fantastic new model with stunning design features in every room but it doesn’t just look great, it’s also very practical. The model on display was sold on the first day of the show to Shorefield and is going to Dane Park, a brand new development; I think that says it all!”
Peter Berwick, Sales Director commented: “Bringing out a new version of an iconic lodge was always going to be tough and expectations have been very high. The feedback we’ve had at the show has made it all worthwhile; the Gîte has been a real showstopper. The team has pulled out all the stops to make this lodge what it is but watch this space… other exciting new models are in the pipeline!”
With striking and unique design features both inside and out, if you’re looking for a lodge with real personality this is the lodge for you!
