Wessex launch the 2017 Hideaway to great acclaim at the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show
1st March 2017
The launch of Wessex’s iconic 2017 Hideaway luxury lodge was the talk of the show at the recent Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show, so much so that it saw some visitors queuing for over an hour to see the stunning new design by Jill Withers.
With an instantly recognisable façade, the iconic Hideaway has set the bar in the luxury lodge market for many a year. This new incarnation, whilst maintaining many of its original features, but with a cool, contemporary twist, further strengthens this status.
The striking façade, clad in beautiful A-grade cedar wood with full-width panoramic folding doors and Brise Soleil to either side, attracted visitors in their droves. This stunning feature, which opens up onto an integrated covered decking area, allows the boundaries of the inside and outside space to be blurred creating the ultimate lodge living environment.
The spacious and light open-plan living space quickly became a focal point with show goers, who loved the smooth, eclectic blend of styles and boutique feel. Visitors were heard in particular to comment on the beautiful, dark oak, engineered-wood flooring which flows from the dining area to the kitchen and through into the hall and boot room beyond.
For those drawn to tech, the Hideaway didn’t disappoint either; with a Panasonic Smart 4k Ultra HD HDR 50" LED TV and Systemline DAB+/FM/Bluetooth music system with ceiling speakers, this is a lodge geared to entertain!
The kitchen, separated from the main living space by a breakfast bar (complete with wine cabinet), impressed show-goers with its impressive array of luxury branded appliances, ample storage and sleek Silestone, Iron Bark worktop; this kitchen not only provides everything you could possibly need for the perfect luxury lodge break, but has a wonderful relaxed feel that make it an absolute pleasure to be in.
The bedrooms, which almost mirror each other, were another highlight. With a wonderful calming feel created by a soft, subtle colour scheme, highlighted by rich malachite, the clean simple lines of the contemporary dark oak beds, combined with wardrobes with sliding doors and bedside lamp tables painted in Farrow & Ball blue/green, are easy on the eye, and beautiful designer lighting enhances the soothing feel.
Designer, Jill Withers commented: “I was involved in the original Hideaway design so it’s been a wonderful, and in some ways nostalgic project to be involved in. We didn’t want the design to take us too far away from what made the Hideaway the iconic model it became, so we kept the popular elements of the original then gave it a contemporary makeover. I chose a simple, sophisticated colour palette and carefully selected designer furniture and fixings to create a luxury lodge with a unique boutique feel.”
Peter Berwick, Group Sales & Design Director commented: “The 2017 Hideaway was a star attraction at the show. Much more than a sum of its parts, this is a lodge with character and finesse that engages the heart and soul. We’re delighted the 2017 Hideaway has been so well received.”
The model displayed at the show (50’ x 22’) is currently available for sale. For more information please call 0845 257 0400 or email firstname.lastname@example.org .
