Wessex to launch the 2017 Hideaway Luxury Lodge at the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show
30th January 2017
Wessex is delighted to be exhibiting at the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome show at the NEC, Birmingham, from 21st to 26th February (Hall 4, Stand 4160), where they will be launching a new lodge design by Jill Withers, the 2017 Hideaway, Wessex’s much acclaimed, signature lodge.
The iconic Hideaway, with its instantly recognisable façade, has set the bar in the luxury lodge market for many a year. This new incarnation, which maintains many of its original features but with a contemporary twist, further strengthens its status.
The Hideaway Luxury Lodge - 15.240m x 6.622m (50'x 22')
With clean, simple lines, contemporary interior design, natural finishes and a subtle, sophisticated colour palette, the Hideaway is the embodiment of lodge luxury.
Clad in beautiful A-grade cedar wood, full-width panoramic folding doors with tinted glazing open up onto an integrated covered decking area with Brise Soleil to either side. This stunning feature allows the boundaries of inside and outside space to be blurred, creating the ultimate lodge living environment.
The open-plan living space with lounge, kitchen and dining areas is spacious and light with a white panelled ceiling and panelled walls. Full-width curtains in duck egg blue are opened electronically across the panoramic folding doors to provide privacy at night, and feature lighting inside creates a wonderful ambience.
Beautiful, dark oak, engineered-wood flooring flows from the dining area to the kitchen and through into the hall and boot room. To the lounge and bedrooms, LOC-weave backed, soft twist carpet in mint crème can found, providing a luxurious softness underfoot.
The lounge area includes a large Jefferson style corner sofa and storage foot stool in a rich marine weave. Behind this a feature wall with Venus Moonstone wallpaper and an etched glazed panel compliment the colour-way perfectly. For those who like their tech, there’s also a Panasonic Smart 4k Ultra HD HDR 50" LED TV and Systemline DAB+/FM/Bluetooth music system with ceiling speakers.
Through into the dining area, a dark oak extending dining table with benches to either side, and chairs to each end, comfortably sits 6. Behind this, a beautiful dark oak sideboard provides plenty of space for ornaments or for laying out a holiday feast!
The kitchen, which is semi open-plan to the main living space and separated by a breakfast bar complete with wine cabinet, hosts an impressive array of luxury branded appliances. There’s an eye-level oven, hob with extractor hood, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washer dryer and a microwave. Natural Oak and Teal kitchen units with soft / self close doors and drawers provide plenty of storage and there’s even a pull-out larder cupboard. Finished off with a Silestone, Iron Bark worktop, this kitchen provides everything needed for holiday practicality but with a clean and polished look that makes it an absolute pleasure to be in.
Another feature noteworthy in this beautiful lodge is the practical boot room. A dark oak storage chest, hat and coat rack and integrated oak storage cupboards provide more than enough storage for guests who refuse to travel light!
The bedrooms, which are almost in mirror image of each other, have a wonderful calming feel created by a soft subtle colour scheme, highlighted by rich malachite. The clean simple lines of the contemporary dark oak beds, combined with wardrobes and bedside lamp tables painted in Farrow & Ball blue/green, are easy on the eye, and beautiful designer lighting enhances the wonderful calming feel.
Off the master bedroom the fully tiled, contemporary en-suite wet-room includes a Euphoria rigid riser shower, heated towel rail and designer wall-hung vanity unit with basin and mirror cabinet; there’s even a comfort seat for the shower! Here the design is sleek and modern with clean lines and a soft, natural colour way.
The family bathroom continues with the beautiful contemporary styling found in the en-suite and includes a luxurious freestanding bath, modern and sleek vintage oak vanity unit designed by Philippe Starch, mirror cabinet and heated towel rail.
The 2017 Hideaway isn’t just about its iconic exterior, stunning interior design or the beautiful, carefully chosen furnishings though, it’s the detail that makes it even more special. Suffolk oak internal doors, contemporary designer radiators, brushed steel sockets and switches and lined curtains and blinds in gorgeous fabrics add those all-important finishing touches.
As you would expect, and as with all Wessex lodges, the Hideaway is built to BS 3632:2015, the residential standard. Higher insulation standards, a 10-year Gold Shield structural warranty and tiled roof guaranteed for 40 years all come together to give you peace of mind.
